Gigi's Gone Shopping: Is your purse a mess?

Gigi's Gone shopping: Is your purse a mess?

I have to share this after my week of lugging 4 bags of luggage around. how cool is this? I know that I will buy at least one.

Adorable Alexa Chung

The Perfect Fit: Alexa Chung to Design Collection for Madewell !!

...Alexa Chung and Madewell are going to join forces. She so stylish and fresh looking, just adorable.  Madewell, it seems,[ "was the first brand to approach her, asking her to collaborate, consult, or just generally come over and pass on some of that gamine-redux style that she makes look so effortless. Yet Madewell were the perfect suitors because, Chung says, they were so laidback and undesperate. “I’d always been a bit cautious of collaborations—that they’d just be a money thing,” she says. “When I moved to New York, Madewell asked to meet me. I went in, and I liked the company. Everything about our meeting was very organic and casual; not full-on. They were open to suggestions.”]

The collection will be available just in time for Fall 2010!  (I'm already looking forward to the next Fall as it is my favorite time of year).

How sweet is that pink bag??!

Winners! and Romeo and Juliet Update

Ballet Update:
Some of you had asked about the Ballet last week, Romeo and Juliet. It was so beautiful. The pointes, twirls, and acting were perfectly executed. When Juliet jumped into her nanny's lap and giggled, everyone in the theater laughed! It was spectacular. My eyes are drawn to the feet and legs, the contortions and pointes just fascinates me. Strangely enough, the ballet inspires me to workout. I went back to my hotel and did Barre Method Pilates.

What a wonderful way to wind down a very stressful week and actually feel like a human being again (I was really pretty much sub-human last week. I think it was the whole sitting on the tarmac for 3 1/2 hours after the Atlanta Airport closed due to weather making me a day late for my conference...I did have the opportunity to read my entire book cover to cover, Alice I Have Been. It was excellent. Read it before the movie comes out and you will have an entirely new perspective on Alice in Wonderland.)

So, if you need to be inspired and have a whole new outlook, the Ballet is the answer! I was even {ok, I lie on this one} prepared for the 6- hour flight home the next day, scrunched in the center seat. I may be tiny, I need S-P-A-C-E!!! Lots of space!

I'm so happy to announce the two winners of the skincare books!

Congratulations to both of you!  Please send your address to me at sbradley2002@hotmail.com so that I can mail the books {and a goodie or two!} next week!

Bunny at the Paris House

and Karyn at French Charming

Both have adorable blogs, so drop by if you can.

I'm in DC this week and I'm looking forward to the Romeo and Juliet Ballet at the Kennedy Center tommorrow night!  I adore the ballet.  This will be a wonderful evening to a end the week!

Isn't she elegant?  I just found out the Coco Before Chanel DVDs are out (I know, where have I been?!)  So I'm going to either order one or go to Target and pick one up.

Happy Saturday!

New Year Giveaway!

To celebrate the New Year, and Decade (if you are counting that way, I realize some people are and some are not!) I'm having a giveaway!  As we all try to better ourselves and our lives this time of year, I'm giving away the book by Drs. Fields and Rodan, Write Your Skin a Prescription For Change.

An excerpt about the book courtesy of Amazon.com:

...renowned dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields passionately draw on forty years of combined clinical experience to offer you what they give their patients -- sound clinical and lifestyle advice for a future of healthy, beautiful skin.

Their perspective is compelling and will inspire the choices that can help you look and feel your best today, tomorrow, and well into the future.

Whether you are 18 or 81, it's never too late to change your skin's destiny. Their patients are their inspiration. They've witnessed the transformation in confidence and self-esteem a person goes through as she gains control over frustrating skincare issues and knows her skin looks great.

Their goal with this book is to extend their patient privilege to you by offering the best skincare solutions straight from their offices. They want everybody to experience their best skin ever; as the saying goes, "it's easier than you may think."

Informative, empowering, and interactive, Write Your Skin a Prescription for Change will become your go-to guide for taking control of your skin's destiny.

So, if you're wondering why you have acne at forty, how to treat a red, sensitive patch on your cheek, or what the latest procedure is to get rid of a wrinkle, this is your comprehensive resource.

Based on Dr. Rodan's and Dr. Fields' expertise, shared through case studies, lists, charts, interactive exercises, and insider tips, you will learn:
** How to assess your complexion like a dermatologist
** What the most common skincare concerns are and options for treatment
** How to combat the key aging culprits
** How to reverse sun damage and restore a healthy, clear, even-toned complexion
** About the latest cosmetic procedures and if they are right for you
** When to self-treat and when to visit a dermatologist

Write Your Skin a Prescription for Change gives you "on-call" access to the skincare savvy of two of the country's top dermatologists. Their advice will help you make wise choices, improving the way you look and feel tomorrow, next year, and well into the future.

If you would like to win, please just be a follower and leave a comment. The DEADLINE to enter/leave a comment is Tuesday, January 26, 11:59pm.

There are two books to be given away: 2 winners!

Special note to my Canadian friends:  there WILL be a charge for you to accept this package.  There is nothing I can do about it the US Post Office told me, the charge is something that the Canadian Inspections/Customs Departments assess.  My last giveaway had very disappointing results over this customs charge (the charge was quite substantial) so please consider the cost to obtain the package before you enter the contest.  (I just don't want anyone else to be disappointed and have to incur any expenses! ;-(

The WINNERS will be announced next Wednesday, January 27 (from DC!).  [Since I'll be on travel, I won't mail the packages until the following week, however.]

Good Luck to everyone!

I'm a Networked Blogger!

I joined the Network Blogger Group via Facebook.  If you are a follower, I'd like to invite you to follow via Network Blog as well and join me on Facebook.  I'm still trying to determine all the information on how this will work, but please send questions if you have any and I will find the answer.

I'm contemplating about combining my home and fashion blogs into one.  I'm having a hard time keeping up with both (not helping my exhaustion at all)... for those of you with more than one blog, what would you suggest?  Looking forward to your comments!  Stay tuned for the giveaway information!

Alice I Have Been

I was in Barnes and Noble looking for a good book for my trip next week. I decided upon "Alice I Have Been".  I'm looking forward to the movie Alice in Wonderland, and this book is about Alice and what she goes through as an adult.

I'll take this book and a book by Alexandra Stoddard, "Living a Beautiful Life".  I found two of her books at an auction I went to last October and am still reading them and making notes.  They are incredibly inspirational to me and I will likely make reference to many of the ideas in them from time to time.  I've learned to much about really making my home more wonderful and it was really fun to find out some of the things that I do are recommend in the book (having multiple desks, for example).  Your home should reflect your style and these books offer suggestions on how to make every activity special and stylish.

Happy 2010!

Happy 2010.  I have pictures and projects to share!  I've actually painted 2 bathrooms over the holidays. Working on my home has been so cathartic.  I'm going to have a giveaway on my fashion blog this week which I'll post soon!

Happy 2010!

I can't wait to start blogging again. I miss chatting with each of you; I've been reading your blogs but have been too exhausted to post on mine (or lazy??!) I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I enjoyed time with my fiancĂ©’s visiting children and the time to work on projects at home. I also had some injuries - a bruised chest wall (I know, the dr doesn't know what caused that either, but it was so painful - MUCH better now!) and because I tried to run while feeling so weak, I ended up with a (according to the drs) "severe" sprained ankle. I won't run for at least another 2 weeks...I'm dying over this!! And what does 'severe' mean anyway?! ggggggrrrr!

My mom is quite ill and I'm heartbroken over it; this of course is part of the reason for my exhaustion (yes, that was my actual diagnosis, strange, right?!) I'll share with you in case anyone has had experience with it: she's in the first stages of dementia; and she's not comfortable talking with me about it, so it’s very difficult. I'm thankful that Edgar has had experience in dealing with this with his parents, so he's been great.

I'm going to DC in a week and hope to really focus on the blog on my 'down time' since I won't be able to go running at the Mall like I usually love to do. I am going to a ballet (Romeo and Juliet) while I am there; I've very excited about that. I 'hope' to be able to wear actual cute boots by then (I've been wearing yoga shoes with my removable cast; sooooo attractive, well, at least the shoes are cute!). Heels are out for a while (a month?!) ugh. Oh how I miss them!

I've been Facebooking, and playing 'Farmville', a fun game that Edgar's children showed me. They play it so it’s a fun way to stay connected. Send a friend request to me if you are on Facebook! My id or user name is "Shari Bradley".

I'm going to Los Angeles today; to pick up clothes from the tailor, stop in a t Bliss Spa for a manicure (smile!), and visit my mom. Have a wonderful Saturday!

Lastly, I'm going to have a small "happy 2010" giveaway, I just have to post the pictures (I think the picture thing is what exhausts me! haha). I'll announce it tomorrow or Monday. A big THANK YOU for staying with me though this very sparse blogging time!
